"you can with this, or you can go with that"

Which one works? #1 was what I came up with inspired(stealing) from old 60's Japanese magazine covers. Then I felt a little avant garde and flipped the design. I like #2 but does it work for a cover design? Please let me know.

this is only a test

Sorry for the lack of blog this month. I've been having trouble with my wireless signal(not important). Also I've been very busy working on issue 5. Here is a sample of what the art will look like. Soon I'll show you("you"as in anyone) some background.

just a taste

I am starting the 5th issue of The Devil's Mask. The plan is to give the book a whole new look(yup i just rhymed). In other words to make the art dissent.(yup that's putting it up a notch)
I'm basically trying to resist to urge to cross-hatch.

ninja gaiden

Ninja Gaiden was a Nintendo game which was fun, long and challenging . Filled with awesome music and very cool cinematic scenes. Till this day I have not passed the game. I just want to see how the story ends.

So here is a tribute to a mountain yet to be climbed.

Wednesday's Child

I 've started to use the Painter-Pro. I find it to be something I have to get comfortable with. In a way I find actual painting easier. The computer is more cost effective but not really a time saver.
This novel cover is an example of my efforts.

KARNOV!!!

I try to get back into the video game world but its not the same. I don't know what it is. I just love the old school Nintendo games like Karnov. I first played this game when I was 7 and it was such a mind trip. Here was this fat(the cover is misleading) ,mustached , fire spitting man who only wore red baggy pants. On top of that he fights every type of mythological creature and goes through every type of climate. Well if you played Super Mario then I guess it doesn't seem so far out there. So I just had a urge to draw characters of my past.

Drawing people when they are not looking PART 1

These are the few chances in which you can take advantage of. People don't stay in one place. Often you think you have a chance to get a good composition but then by the time you get out your pencil they're gone. The worst is when they notice you drawing them. They want to see how they look like, but you don't want to show an unfinished sketch. The worst if some says "that doesn't look like me". Got to love it.
